This is one of those times in life when I am reassessing many parts of my life. I am leaving some things behind and treading down new paths. It is a healthy thing to do now and then. Our world changes constantly and we need to change now and then to maintain relevance.
The big change I’ve made in my on line “platform” is the creation of this new/old blog and a refinement of my vision for what I am doing here to serve others.
I say new/old blog because this blog, DanielRMurphy.com, contains all the posts from the old blog (ctwblog.com) and it is where all the new posts will appear.
It is more than that however. It is a decision to renew and refine the vision for what this platform is meant to accomplish. When I launched the website (www.books2wealth.com) and the old blog in 2008 it was directed toward wealth creation. I will admit that was intentional to attract readers. Most people are interested in increasing their wealth. I discovered however that you cannot address the creation of wealth in a vacuum. True wealth is about more than bank accounts and money. It is about living a quality life; maintain balance, becoming more effective and continuous learning and adaptation to a changing world.
That is the vision here – Educating people for building wealth, adapting to a changing future and personal development. You cannot build wealth unless you can adapt to change. You cannot improve your life unless you develop yourself – improve your effectiveness. It is all interrelated.
The focus here will continue to be the creation of true wealth (which is more than money), time management, leadership skills, personal development and time management. In a sense I am breaking the rules here. Most of the internet gurus who advise us on how to be effective on line tell us to identify a narrow niche and master it. I do not disagree with that so much as I find that my niche – becoming more successful and effective – requires attention to more than one thing. I hope that you the reader will agree and will benefit from that more complex vision of what true success, true wealth and true adaptation can bring us.
I have spent most of my life in efforts to improve myself and my effectiveness and I will continue to do so until I draw that last breath. I have not arrived. I am not done. I suggest that no one is. It is a life long journey. I sincerely hope you will join me in that journey and I hope that what I provide on this blog and on my website will help you do just that.
This blog is dedicated to us – all of us – progressing through life, becoming more than we are and seeking knowledge and insight along the way.
What do you think?Wishing you well,
Daniel R. Murphy
