What is Success?

Some people spend a lot of time trying to achieve something that someone else defines as success. It is a pity. Success is what you wish to accomplish.

You must define your success. First because you will only derive genuine satisfaction from working toward the goals and achievement you genuinely want to do. Second because no one should strive to be someone else – it is your right to be yourself.

If success for you is being the best parent you can be and you achieve this you are successful. If success for you is to make a lot of money than making a lot of money is your success. If winning a race or getting an Olympic metal or inventing a better mousetrap is your idea of success than that is what you should be pursuing.

Make sure that your definition of success is not someone else’s definition. Make sure it is your definition. If you truly own your definition of success than you will be far more motivated to do the hard work it takes to achieve that success and you will feel a much more genuine sense of accomplishment when you realize your goal.

What is success? Success is what you decide it is.
