The World Is Flat – Really!

I just finished reading The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman. It is a great book. At 635 pages it is a big read.

First written in 2005 I read his updated 2007 revision. Friedman is the NY Times foreign affairs columnist. He has just published Hot, Flat and Crowded, his newest book. If it is half as good as the one I just read it will be worth it. You can bet I will be reading it.

I will be writing a full review on The World Is Flat soon, but in the meantime suffice to say that Friedman brilliantly illustrates for us how the world has changed over the past twenty years and most profoundly how the internet and related developments have changed business, politics, international relations and just about everything else.

This book ought to be required reading in all high schools and colleges. If you want to gain a real understanding of today’s world, how it has changed and why it has changed, this book is a must read. If you plan on doing business in any way in this world in the future this book is a must read.
