The Pursuit of Wow

I am currently reading Tom Peters’ 1994 best seller, The Pursuit of Wow! It is a collection of musings, observations and ideas about how to be more effective in the business world. It also applies to non-business organizations.

Even though this came out 18 years ago it seems to still be as relevant as it was then.

One observation he makes is that change generates more unintended consequences than it does intended ones. Is this true? My observation is that for the most part it is. We think we solve a problem by taking one course of action but find it creates a bunch of new problems. We then search for solutions to the new problems only to give birth to many more unintended ones.

Does this ring true for you?
