How to Make Hard Choices

Ruth Chang is a philosopher who specializes in how we make hard choices. In this video she discusses how hard choices must be made. Choices based on scientific evidence, she says, are easy because they are quantifiable. Choices based on values however are difficult because it is often difficult to quantify values.

She suggests that we make value based decisions can be rational not based on external reasons but based on our own self-made reasons. For value based decisions then she suggests we need to look within for guidance – not outside us.
