Has Change Changed in the internet Era?

Tom Peters, the management writer and consultant, says that because we live in a world of instant communications and global competition change must be fast, constant and comprehensive to be effective. Is that true?

He contrasts that with the more traditional view the sound change is incremental – gradual changes implemented one step at a time. Most change prior to the internet age probably fit that incremental model.

Is Peters correct that in order to keep up in the modern world and remain competitive and relevant one must constantly change and change on a broad level?
