Successful people most often are people who maintain focus. They decide, after due consideration, what direction they want to take, and then they stay on that road until they reach their destination. They do not permit themselves to be distracted off that road unless it becomes clear to them that it is not wise or possible to reach their destination in that fashion and they must change course. Absent that necessity, they do not permit distractions to take them off course.
Whatever you decide to do, whatever direction you choose to go, practice focus. Stay the course at least until or unless it seems clearly unwise to continue to do so. Ignore all the distractions that will delay your progress or move you off course.
Today, staying focused can be more difficult than ever because we are surrounded by so many distractions. The various media including all the internet has to offer are very big distractions. The internet, in fact, may be the biggest distraction of all. How many times have you gone on line to check email or some other small chore and found yourself burning an hour on the internet? It is very easy to do.
If you want to accomplish your goals in most cases it requires a steady and constant course. It requires that you maintain focus on what you are doing and where you are going.
It is a simple bit of advice, and may seem rather obvious – but it is easily forgotten in a world full of distraction. To succeed – maintain your focus and accomplish one thing at a time.
