About the Author:

James Strock is a prolific writer and blogger on the subject of leadership. He is also a consultant and public speaker. His seminal book on leadership, Serve to Lead, focuses on service as the focus of genuine leadership. He also writes on government, social issues and environmental issues.

Strock has worked in business, nonprofit and government service including the military, He served as co-chair of the Arizona Governor’s Solar Energy Advisory Task Force from 2010-2012. He served for six years on California Gov. Pete Wilson’s cabinet as the state’s founding Secretary of Environmental Protection. In 1989 he was appointed as Assistant Administrator for Enforcement at the EPA by President Bush.
