Jack Canfield, born in 1944, is a well-known motivational speaker and author. He gained fame for a series of books beginning with Chicken Soup for the Soul. He co-created the Soup series with Mark Victor Hanson. Currently that series has over 200 titles selling over 100,000,000 copies worldwide.

Canfield also wrote The Aladdin Factor in 1995 and The Success Principles in 2005 as well as a number of other books. He continues to speak at various large venues and events and is a personal coach. His other books include The Key to Living the Law of Attraction, Coaching for Breakthrough and Success, The Power of Focus and a number of other books on success. He was a featured contributor to The Secret in both book and movie format.

In 2004 he formed the Transformational Leadership Council, a group of authors, speakers and coaches in the field of personal development.

Building a Career in the Success Business

Canfield began his career as a high school teacher after obtaining a degree from Harvard. He began searching for ways to motivate his students. He discovered the self-made millionaire W. Clement Stone who founded one of the most successful insurance companies in the United States and later co-wrote the book, Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude with Napoleon Hill.
