Are You a Doer?

One of my favorite bloggers, Darren Hardy, just posted a great article on the tremendous importance of doing or action.

We talk here a lot about planning and goal setting. These are definitely important skills and practices to achieve success, and Darren agrees. But the point he makes in this post is equally important. No matter how much you plan if you do not execute you accomplish nothing.

Darren’s other point is that sometimes you have to just jump in and do it. You may not get it perfect the first time but it is more important to start doing then to wait for the right moment.

There are of course exceptions to this. Before you put yourself out there for the world to see you do need to do some preparation. You need to make sure you are doing what further’s your goals. And if doing involves spending money you will want to make sure you have planned the money part out too – or you can lose a lot of money very quickly.

The important point though is to avoid being frozen in preparation. That is easy for many of us. We want to get it right, we want it to be perfect. But it wont be perfect, not at first, and the best training for most things is in the doing. I urge you to read Darren’s article and let us know what you think. Are you a Doer?
