Now, every morning I am doing a short positive self-talk that I am already creative, productive, confident, influential, calm, loving, leading, inspiring, humble, intelligent, innovative, attractive, sensible and successful. It really helps me get that little positive boost for the day and adds extra confidence to whatever I do.

Negative self-talk is defeating

What we tell ourselves in large part defines our limits and our potential. For all kinds of reasons most of us engage in a lot of negative self-talk every day. We criticize ourselves. We tell ourselves all the reasons why we cannot do this or that. We squelch our own dreams.

These self-limiting words we use limit us. But we can just as easily use empowering words to expand our potential. We can say to ourselves that we can achieve what we dream of. We can motivate ourselves to do more and do it better by the way we talk to ourselves. This positive self-talk is often called affirmations.

Positive self-talk is empowering

Do not have to stand in front of a mirror to do this. You do not have to do anything weird or special. You just replace the negative self-talk with affirming self-talk.

Instead of I can’t, I couldn’t, I don’t have, I don’t know how, I am not that smart…

You say to yourself I can, I will, I have, I can learn how, I am smart enough…

This is not magic. It will not magically make your problems go away, pay off your debts or fix everything. It will make it easier for you to find solutions and accomplish more.
